The James A. Haley Veterans' Hospital Polytrauma Rehabilitation Center is one of 5 VA facilities in the country designed to provide intensive rehabilitative care to Veterans and Active Duty Service members who have experienced mild to severe traumatic brain injury, chronic pain and related physical and or mental health injuries.
In 2017, James A. Haley Veterans' Hospital Polytrauma Rehabilitation Center became the first Veterans Hospital to integrate the Creative Forces Program into the Recreation Therapy and Creative Arts Therapy department. The creative arts therapies are an integral part of the interdisciplinary teams rehabilitative services. Emphasis of treatment is placed on persistent post-concussive symptoms, readjustment issues and emotional functioning resulting from traumatic brain injury. Our creative arts therapists are art therapist, Merrilee Jorn, dance/movement therapist, Brittni Cleland, and music therapist, Natalie Quintana.
