Brenda Maltz, MA, RN, ATR-BC, is an art therapist with Henry M. Jackson Foundation for the Advancement of Military Medicine and works in the Creative Forces®: NEA Military Healing Arts Network in Tacoma, Washington. Brenda was the first art therapy intern at Joint Base Lewis-McChord in 2013 while completing her MA in Counseling and Art Therapy at Antioch University Seattle and has been working with active duty military-connected populations since 2017. Art therapy is her second career after over 30 years in nursing and case management. Brenda is a military wife who is passionate about how the arts can impact lives and break the silence of those suffering invisible wounds related to military service. As an artist, Brenda enjoys working in a variety of sculptural media, including stone, glass, and fabric and is best known for her bronze sculptures displayed publicly in Kansas, Hawaii, Nebraska, Nevada, and Washington.
