Voices of Now Military Ensemble 2024/25
Arena Stage, in partnership with The Boeing Company, will present the Voices of Now (VON) program, creating an ensemble of military family members ages 14 and up. VON is a year-long, after-school program that utilizes creative writing, group discussion, collaboration, and movement to devise autobiographical theater pieces with ensembles composed of middle-school, high-school, and adult artists. The program aims to offer rehabilitation and recovery support to address the unique needs of this military-connected community. Originally created to work with one local middle school in Arena’s neighborhood, Jefferson Academy, the program has expanded to serve hundreds of students and adult artists in the DC area and beyond.
