Gateway Regional Arts Center, in partnership with American Legion Post #22, will present Creative Freedom: A Veterans Arts Initiative in Eastern Kentucky. The program will offer free therapeutic arts activities to military personnel, veterans, their families, and caregivers. Creative Freedom will help build stronger communities, promote healing, and provide a positive and supportive outlet through classes in Appalachian traditional art forms such as folk art, Bluegrass music, poetry, storytelling, and dancing. The program will create a bond between local and regional veterans and their families based on creative interests, sparking further connections outside of the program.
