The Rev. Dr. Lynn Osgood serves as Executive Director for Civic Arts and leads the Creative Forces®: National Endowment for the Arts’ Military Healing Arts Network National Resource Center and Capacity Team. Lynn is an urban planner and researcher whose work explores the intersection of the arts, placemaking, and civic capacity building. She started her career in urban planning in New York City when she worked with the UN Habitat II Conference on Human Settlements. Trained in landscape architecture and urban planning at the University of Virginia, Lynn moved to Austin in 2003, where she became Adjunct Faculty at the University of Texas at Austin in the Department of Community and Regional Planning. She currently teaches civic engagement and qualitative research courses at UT Austin. In 2011 she founded Civic Arts and now leads the development of placemaking, policy, and technical assistance projects for municipalities across the United States, and with partners such as ArtPlace America, the International City/County Management Association (ICMA), and Engaging Local Government Leaders (ELGL).
