Healing and Community Building for Military-Connected Individuals

The Theatre Lab's Healing and Community Building for Military-Connected Individuals project aims to provide women veterans and families grieving the loss of a military loved one access to healing, community-building, and the empowering benefits of participation in the arts through Life Stories workshops. The workshops will use acting, improvisation, and storytelling techniques to help participants develop and perform original dramatic works drawing from their lived experiences, offering them an opportunity to reframe their narratives with support from a safe community of peers. The project will be conducted in partnership with Camp Brown Bear and TAPS, with the former providing access to women veterans and the latter addressing the specific needs of families, parents, and active-duty women survivors of a lost spouse.
